TLC for Tots
Infant Program

Picture
Here at TLC for Tots, the children learn as they play. They have portions of "class time" that is structured with many opportunities throughout the day for independent play and exploration. While in our care, the children will participate in activities which promote healthy, age-appropriate growth and development. We utilize Beautiful Beginnings Curriculum as a way to implement and track these activities. Each child that is in attendance on a regular basis will have a folder with these goal sheets present. As we work on different skills, we will be making notations and progressing through the program at their own pace. Most importantly, we want to ensure that all children are excelling to their full potential as well as spending extra time on areas they may be struggling with. All of this is at their own pace depending on how comfortable they are doing a particular activity.

The infant stage in a persons life is extremely crucial. Many of the activities are a great bonding experience between child and caregiver. This is crucial for us to be successful in gaining their trust and doing the best we can as their caregiver. There are 6-7 (depending on age) different areas that the children work on. Each area has 8 different goals that are progressively more difficult as they develop and are capable of understanding more. A child may very well be stage 1 of Gross Motor but may be at a stage 5 in communication. We do not want our curriculum to be streamlined for all children. They are individuals and we strive to treat them as such.

Below is a copy of the goal sheets for infants. These may also be accessing in your child's folder at "school".
